For many years, LaneTalk has provided free access to live scoring for all users—bowlers, spectators, and fans—worldwide. Behind the scenes, this requires ongoing investment in integrations, data processing, and infrastructure. As the platform grows, so do the costs.
To ensure long-term sustainability and continue delivering a high-quality experience, we’re introducing the Center Live Scoring License.
This optional license allows centers that value public visibility to continue offering live scores to all users—not just paying app users—via a simple subscription. It’s designed for centers that want to make their live scoring available to everyone in the app and on the web.
By introducing this license, we can maintain and improve the service together with the bowling community—ensuring it remains available, reliable, and valuable for years to come.
Thanks for being part of the LaneTalk community and supporting the sport of Bowling!
Let your visitors Follow the Action! The new setup will take effect on December 1st, 2025. Centers that wish to keep live scoring visible to all users can activate their license at any time before this date.
Regardless of license status, your LaneTalk integration remains fully active. Scores will continue to upload automatically, and all paid user features in the app will remain unchanged.
The optional Center Live Scoring License is available at $500 per year and can be purchased securely with a credit card.
Each center has received an email with login details to access the LaneTalk Center Dashboard, where the subscription can be activated. Need assistance? Please contact our team at centersales@lanetalk.com.
Once completed, the license is instantly activated and a receipt will be sent to your email. From that moment, all visitors can view your center’s live scores in the app and on the web.
We understand that concern. The scoring data originates from your scoring system, while LaneTalk’s role is to collect, process, and deliver it in real time to thousands of bowlers worldwide. Every day we handle up to a million games, adding value for both bowlers and centers.
This process requires substantial investment in hosting, data security, and ongoing development. The optional Center Live Scoring License helps cover part of these costs, ensuring that the service remains available, reliable, and high quality for your bowlers.
LaneTalk subscribers already help support the platform, but their contributions alone don’t cover the full cost of operating and maintaining live scoring across thousands of centers.
The Center Live Scoring License ensures that this cost is shared more fairly—between the app users who value the service most and the centers that want to offer public visibility of live scores to all bowlers.
We’ve provided free public visibility for many years, and even with the new optional license, we’ll continue to do so at a loss in many centers. The license simply helps keep the service sustainable and high quality for the long term.
Absolutely not. Your LaneTalk integration will continue to work exactly as before. The only difference is visibility—without a license, free users can no longer view your live scores.
That shows how much the live scoring experience is valued. Activating a license restores visibility for everyone and keeps your bowlers engaged both on-site and remotely.
To make the LaneTalk platform sustainable long-term, we’ve moved game claiming and personal stats to the LaneTalk Pro plan. These features involve real-time syncing and processing of up to a million games a day, which requires significant infrastructure and development. By including them in Pro, the bowlers who use and value them most help support the platform. Free users can still follow live scoring (when a Center Live Scoring License is active) and follow other bowlers, but personal stats and game history now require a Pro subscription.
Yes. During official PBA or USBC events with live streams, live scoring will be unlocked for all users to ensure maximum availability. For local or smaller events, please reach out to centersales@lanetalk.com.
In some cases, yes. If your center actively promotes LaneTalk and helps increase Pro subscriptions, we’re open to discussing creative partnership opportunities.
The annual fee is $500 per center—less than $10 per week—covering unlimited app users, unlimited website visitors, and full visibility in the LaneTalk app and web platform.
No. The Center Live Scoring License is optional. Your LaneTalk integration continues to work regardless, and Pro users will still have full access. The license is only for centers that want to keep live scoring visible to all users.
Yes. We’re happy to discuss trial options for newly integrated centers so you can evaluate the value of public live scoring visibility for your center.
Nothing changes in your integration or score uploads. The only difference is that free users will no longer see your live scores—visibility remains for Pro subscribers only.
The license unlocks all live scoring features for your center, making them visible to everyone—regardless of whether a user has a paid app subscription or not.
With the license, you get:
This ensures your center’s live scoring remains fully visible and engaging for all bowlers and visitors.
The Center Livescoring license include the above features. Other bowler features such as adding personal scores to the bowler profile, get advanced stats and insights, tag your bowling balls to your games and similar powerful tools are available in the paid app Pro subscription and is not a part of the Livescoring license for centers.
With the license, your center stays visible to all bowlers in the LaneTalk app and on the web. This helps drive engagement, strengthens your league community, and creates more opportunities to attract new bowlers.
Yes. The license is billed annually, but you can choose not to renew for the following year.
